The Purpose of Worship

At New Waves we find value in gathering as a community to share our joys, supporting our neighbors of all kinds, and working together to make sense of who we are and what we can do with the time in Earth we have been given.

We do not have a pastor at this time—we are a lay-led group of people who are passionate about building a space that is safe for all people to gather and ask hard questions. Many of the things we all struggle with as humans don’t have easy answers, if they have answers at all. When we are dealing with the weight of the world, it’s our communities that give us strength. These are things we can do for each other, and share in the responsibilities that would usually fall on a single church leader.
